march obligation

Today is last day of the March and last day to keep me survived in challenge. I must post something today. :(

Matter of the fact is that here is nothing great to talk about and worth posting. But obligation. I do not to give up so early. I can also not make announcement and call it post. And anyway, how many news babies will born this year to make me announcements? Only things that I am missing right now is – angel. I could not spend even one weekend and I had to leave home. This is the most dreadful part of life and my work/job. I also missed very important engagement ceremony. MJ got engaged and finally he will be in locked and wedded in June. Btw, if you missed my comment on earlier post – we named her Mehal.

halwawala aa gaya

Last Friday I was traveling to Bombay (Mumbai) from Pune in MSRTC Volvo bus. This days traveling between Pune and Bombay, has become really comfy. Air conditioned Volvo coaches, push back seats, video on the go, free news paper and bottle of water. It is very much like flying. I am waiting for the days, when drinks will be served on board (coach).

Some times these things can actually become a problem, like ACs, at times they are extremely cold for an Indian. Music played can be unbearably loud remix, and crap movies on poor pirated prints. Usually they show cheap comedies, recent flops flicks, or if you are lucky one of the Hindi version of Priydarshan’s (self grinded) Malayalam movie.

Mother India, Anand to Munnabhi …

Last week Hrishikesh Mukherji passed away, he came in to Hindi Cinema and went away. Thus, should we say that he passed away by/from Hindi Cinema? A newspaper article read “There will not be Anands, Satyakams and Chupke Chupkes anymore. There are very few films, let alone Hindi cinema, in the world; which have ability to leave the mark on the minds and hearts of the viewer. Anand was one of them.

In recent time Munnabhi MBBS or Chandani Bar had capacity to hit you hard. After I came out watching Chandani Bar, I had hated myself; for living in the society, and being part of it where there are Chandani Bars. I still remember that I could not sleep that night with serenity. Munnabhi was one more such flick. When I say hit hard, it does not necessarily mean to make you feel guilty or culpable. Like in case of Munnabhi, it is one movie which does not talk about any negativity of life. According to Murali life has all the positive things, only problem dwell in people because they see it from wrong side. The imprints left by these movies are so strong that you carry them like your own experience of life. Continue reading

Lage Raho Munnabhai …

Doctor to logon ko zindagi deta hai, tune to logon ko jina sikha diya

(Eng – Doctors give life to people, but you edified them to live life.)

These are the words of humble father to his son. A father always wants his children to do something great in life. Become doctor, lawyer or engineer. This father wanted his son Murali Prasad Sharma to become a doctor. He ended up becoming Munnabhai. Mr Sharma hated his son for not following dream of a father. But in the end he repented for not able to understand the life of his own son. In the end he told these lines to his son, which so clearly shows happiness of father when he saw his son so great. click. must for all workaholics

After long time, I found company to go for movie. Now days movies have become costly affair, and when I see blunders like Fanaa, I hate myself for wasting money. Anyway, it is not important at this moment.

Went to saw Click on Sunday eve, wanted to see Omkara actually. But my room mate, out and out english movies freak forced for Click. I am happy he did. It was not one of the masterpieces which I see, cherish and ponder again and again. But some scene and situations touched my heart.

Specially, when Michael realises after 6 years that his father has passed away and he was not there in the funeral. It was touching when he goes back in time, to tell his father how much he loved him. But… as he has already lived that part of life, he can not convey it to him. The communication remained one side.   Continue reading

Krrish – India’s first super hero has arrived!!

Thursday evening I left office with final approval from my manager for my release. I was walking with latest buddy towards home, and saw that Hi-Tech Theater is showing Krrish. Thought this is good time to see movie. I am feeling free; I am in good mood, and no baggage of four years of my career with KeC. K for KeC and K for Krrish!! Ineresting!!

So finally India’s first super hero has arrived. Are not our mythological characters superheroes? I mean Ramayana and Mahabharata is full of them. Okay!! Okay!! I am inflating. So Krrish is our first superhero on Indian silver screen. But let me remember, we had Hindi remake of Superman where Dharmendra plays the superman. I mean, okay that it was cheap remake or caricature of original but still. Fine, I agree that Krishna aka Krrish is our first and foremost superhero. Can you guys tell me then what was Arun (Anil Kapoor) in Mr. India? He was superhero with super-human power to be invisible. I am not going to give up here. It is okay that for marketing Roshans may boast that they have created super-human in India. And even if you believe Roshans; their own Rohit Mehra in Koi Mil Gaya was super-human. Continue reading

Fanna, my 100 bucks, precious bench hrs, and my stranded room mate

The way I saw guys were supporting Fanaa (in several communities in Orkut)….. It seems they are all in love with it. Great……

I am great fan of Aamir Khan myself since Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. I even use to copy his hair style. It was big compliment for me when people notice that. Since Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, I belive that it was Kajol who made the King Khan – Shahrukh and not the vice-versa.

But one thing I am sure is that this movie (Fanaa) is no better then Mela, Mann or Mangal Pandey. I respect the opinion of the people but let us be fair that story and script is most pathetic (can not find better word) in recent time. There are worst scripts from David Dhawan, Nadiadwala and Satish Kaushik brand; but they don’t boast their stories. They are brainless entertainers; and they serve the purpose well.

I also admit that box-office collections are great. There are lot of reasons for it; like Aamir Khan fans, come back of Kajol, Kunal Kohli after Hum Tum, melodious music and last from Jatin Lalit duo, combo of Aamir and Kajol. At the end of the day Combo Aamir-Kajol was costlier then Combo Pepsi-Popcorn at PVR Hyderabad; completely tasteless and sheer waste of money. The way YRF marketed the movie was good, creating all the news from new profit sharing methods and then using the hype of Aamir and Rang De Basanti success.   Continue reading
